The Elegant Man: Kiton celebrates men’s elegance in painting with an exhibition in Milano
Milan, April 2018 – Kiton will celebrate men’s elegance in international painting with an exhibition at Palazzo Kiton, curated by the Robilant+Voena gallery, from 17 to 22 April 2018.
Ten masterpieces of painting from Antoon Van Dyck to Giovanni Boldini describe the evolution of men’s clothing from the 17th century to the 20th century, culminating in the elegance that represents the tradition of Kiton tailoring today.
The exhibition begins in Naples from the second half of the eighteenth century: a mixture of intellectual twists, art and glamour, poetry and costume. The paintings in the exhibition tell the story of painters and men who, with precision or by the power of suggestion, have known how to grasp the colourful chiaroscuro of the land of Kiton.
The protagonists are gentlemen, heir style and their aesthetic, immortalised by Italian and international painters.
To mark design week, Kiton will, for the first time, be opening the doors of its premises in Milan, a historic building of Italian fashion in the heart of Brera, to house an exhibition in the main hall that expresses the harmony of art, fashion, design and architecture.
A sensorial and tactile itinerary, accompanied by the iconic fabrics of the brand which envelop the works with patterns and motifs inspired by each painting.
